Vivek is 38 years old, living in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India.

He has been working for the last 18 years as driver for travel agencies, taking care of over a thousand guests! Vivek decided 2 years ago to buy his own car and to work independantly.

Vivek usually welcomes his guests in New Delhi airport, and drives through all Rajasthan. However he also can pick them up in any of the other cities (Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur, Udaipur...)

Tips for choosing your Car & Driver

If you decide to travel by car, how you will choose your driver will have a great influence on how you will experience Rajasthan.

A lot of travellers are reporting the fact that their drivers are driving them to shops, restaurants and hotels where they can be commissioned. This is a usual practice in India and may damage your travel experience.

Another issue people may sometimes face is the fact that their driver drink alcohol. Driving in Rajasthan requires full concentration to have a safe trip.

There are a lot of travel agencies proposing cars and drivers, however they are operating a lot of cars and you will never be sure about which driver you will get. Travellers experience is based on one driver, and choosing the same agency cannot fully garantee the same experience.

- Guests choose where they want to eat, where they want to sleep, where they want to go;(however he can of course help, on request).
- Vivek does not drink any alcohol, never.
- Vivek can advice on itinerary and knows very well this region of India, and can therefore take you out from the main touristic roads, if you want to experience the "real" Rajasthan.
- Vivek will be the one to drive you. If he is busy at your dates, he will decline your request for a tour with him, since Vivek does not work as a travel agent.
- Vivek does not work based on commissions, but expect a tip at the end of the tour if guests are satisfied (usual practice for all drivers in Rajasthan).
- Quoted prices for the car and driver are all inclusive (including petrol, taxes, unlimited kilometers, driver accomodation and food) - Sometimes some hotels are providing accomodation and food for the driver, but if not Vivek will manage himself without any problem.
